Custom build or a no-code CRM.
A no-code CRM gives you a pipeline, contact records and AI features inside its own data model on day one. A custom build keeps your CRM, or builds the record you need, and puts the agents around it with your finance and operations connected. The question is whether the CRM’s model fits the business.

Terms as published in October 2026. No prices: every KYN build is quoted on scope, and platform plans change.
| No-code CRM with AI (Pepper Cloud, HubSpot, Zoho type) | KYN custom build | |
|---|---|---|
| The record | The CRM’s objects: contacts, deals, tickets. Finance and operations elsewhere. | One record across sales, finance and operations, in your database. |
| AI features | Assist features inside the CRM: summaries, suggested replies, lead scoring. | Agents that read the mailbox, draft replies, chase invoices and report, gated by a person. |
| Connecting the back office | Through connectors or a workflow tool; each is another subscription. | Built in: bills, bank lines, stock, payroll on the same record. |
| Customisation | Custom fields and pipelines; the objects are fixed. | Anything; the schema is yours. |
| Time to live | Days to configure; weeks to clean the import. | About 14 days once scope, access and integrations are settled. |
| Run cost | Per seat per month, rising with tiers and add-ons. | Model and messaging fees per unit; hosting at cost. |
| Leaving | Export the records; rebuild the pipelines and automations. | Nothing to leave. |
Which one, when.
- KYN custom build
- Sales, finance and operations must share one record.
- Your pipeline does not look like contacts and deals.
- You already run a CRM and want agents around it, not a new one.
- Seats are expensive because everyone needs to see the record.
- No-code CRM with AI (Pepper Cloud, HubSpot, Zoho type)
- Sales is the only team that needs software this year.
- A standard pipeline fits the business.
- You want reports out of the box on day one.
- A per-seat subscription is easier to approve than a build.
Questions buyers ask
Should we replace our CRM with a custom build?
- Usually not. If the CRM fits sales, keep it and put the agents around it: the reply desk in the mailbox, the chase in the books, the morning report from all of them. A custom record replaces the CRM only when its objects do not fit the business.
Can KYN agents work inside HubSpot or Pepper Cloud?
- Against any CRM with an API, yes: read the record, write activities and stage changes, draft against the contact. Salesforce is the one on the build library today; others take about a week to connect.
What does a no-code CRM not do?
- The back office. Bills, bank lines, stock, payroll and production live outside its objects, so the morning report and the finance chase need a second system or a build.
Who owns the data in each case?
- In a custom build, the database is in your account. In a CRM, the data is yours by contract and exportable by the vendor’s tools; the pipelines and automations are not.
