What a Business Website Costs in Singapore in 2026

What a website quote contains, what hosting, domain, email and security add each year, what a rebuild costs against a new site, and the costs that appear after launch. Checked October 2026.

Website quotes in Singapore range from a few hundred dollars to six figures, and the number alone tells you little. The useful comparison is what each quote includes, what it leaves for you to pay later, and what you own at the end.

What is inside a website quote?

A complete quote covers five things. A cheap quote usually covers one.

  • Design: the layout, type, colour and components. On a template, this is configuration. On a custom build, it is a design system you keep.
  • Build: the pages, the content management, forms, and any integration with a CRM, booking or payment system.
  • Content: copy, photography, translation. Often excluded and often the item that delays launch by months.
  • Search: URL structure, titles, schema, redirects from the old site, and the sitemap. Rarely itemised, and the most expensive thing to fix later.
  • Launch: domain, DNS, email records, hosting setup, analytics and Search Console.

Ask for each line. A quote that lists only design and build is asking you to arrange the other three yourself.

What do hosting, domain and email add each year?

After launch, a business website carries recurring costs whether or not anything changes.

  • Domain: a .sg or .com.sg renewal each year.
  • Hosting: from a few dollars a month on shared hosting to pay-as-you-go on Vercel or Google Cloud Run, where a small site often runs on the free tier and a busy one scales with traffic.
  • Email: a business mail plan per user. The MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC records for it live in the same DNS as the website, so whoever holds the DNS holds the email.
  • Site builder subscription, if the site is on one. This is the cost a coded site does not have.
  • Analytics and Search Console: free.

Write these down before signing. A site that is cheap to build and expensive to keep is a common shape.

What does security add?

For a brochure site, security is a matter of keeping the platform patched and the DNS records correct. For a site with a database, a login or a client portal, it is a design decision that must be priced in.

  • Tenant isolation: each client's rows in the database are separated by a policy the database enforces, not by application code. From our own builds, this is row-level isolation keyed on a tenant identifier.
  • API protection: every route checks two credentials, a key and an actor, before any handler runs.
  • Named database access: one role per person and per service, no shared logins, revoked in one place when someone leaves.
  • Secrets with expiry dates on a calendar, not in someone's memory.

None of this is expensive to build at the start. All of it is expensive to add after a breach.

What does a rebuild cost compared with a new site?

A rebuild costs more than a new site of the same size, because it carries a migration.

  • Inventory of every existing URL, title and page, with traffic data.
  • A redirect map for anything that changes.
  • Content migration, often with cleanup.
  • A guard in the build that fails if a kept URL or title drifts.
  • A staging comparison before launch.

From our own builds: moving a site from a builder to Next.js kept all 13 of its URLs and lost no rankings. The migration work was a meaningful share of the project, and it was the share that protected the traffic the business already had. A rebuild quote that does not mention migration is a new-site quote with a redesign label.

What costs appear after launch?

The costs that surprise people are the ones nobody owns.

  • Content. A site with no new pages after launch slowly loses ground to competitors that publish. Budget for articles, by a writer or by an engine, from month one.
  • Fixes. A deploy that fails silently, a form that stops sending, a certificate that expires. From our own builds: one deploy step failed without an error for 17 hours before a live check caught it. Monitoring is a cost, and its absence is a larger one.
  • Updates. Frameworks, plugins and dependencies need patching. On a builder this is included. On WordPress and coded sites, someone has to do it.
  • Leads. A website that captures enquiries and leaves them in an inbox is wasting the money that brought them. Lead handling is part of the website's job and should be priced with it.

A single package covering design, build, hosting, security, search and lead handling, with a monthly fee that keeps all of it running, is easier to budget than five vendors with five renewal dates. For what that package looks like, see one package for design, build, hosting and search.

Frequently asked questions

Why do two quotes for the same site differ so much?

Usually because one includes content, search and launch work and the other leaves them out. Compare the line items, not the totals.

Is a monthly retainer worth it for a small business site?

If the retainer covers monitoring, updates, fixes and new content, yes. If it covers only hosting, pay for hosting directly.

Can I get a fixed price for a website?

For a defined scope, yes. The scope has to list pages, languages, integrations and the migration work. Open scope produces open invoices.
